Lahore: Paralympics festival is going to be organized in Paris, France, the opening ceremony of which will be held on August 28.
Pakistan will be represented by Haider Ali. Pakistan’s only athlete for the Paralympics Haider Ali left Islamabad with his coach Akbar Ali.
More than 4000 athletes from 170 countries are participating in the Paralympics. In these sports, athletes with different physical weaknesses get an opportunity to express their abilities, Haider Ali F will participate in the discus throw event of thirty-seventh category.
Hyder Ali will be in action in the discus throw on September 6. Haider Ali won the gold medal in the discus throw in the Tokyo Games four years ago. Haider Ali from Gujranwala is representing the country for the fifth time in the Paralympics.
Before that, he has also won silver and bronze medals in long jump. Haider Ali won silver medal in long jump for the first time in 2008 Beijing Olympics. In the 2016 Rio Olympics, he raised the national flag by taking a bronze medal, and in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he threw the discus 55.26 meters away and threw the gold medal around his neck. He was unfit at the 2012 London Olympics.
