In the reference of illegal recruitment in PSO, all accused including former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were acquitted.
NAB Court Karachi heard the reference of illegal appointment of Managing Director PSO, the court accepted the request of NAB officials to withdraw the reference of illegal recruitment in PSO.
The court also ordered to send the reference chairman NAB back. Apart from Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, ex-MDPSO Sheikh Imran-ul-Haq, ex-Secretary Petroleum Arshad Mirza and ex-MDPSO Yaqub Sattar are also among those acquitted.
Later speaking to the media outside the accountability court Karachi, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that NAB should be abolished otherwise the country will not run, there is a need to fix the judicial system.
He said that this was not a case of corruption but only a case of misuse of authority. The judge wrote in the judgment that this case is wrong. After 4 years and 2 months, NAB said that they withdraw the reference. NAB brought only one witness.
He said that we are with the political party that will follow the constitution, we have no quarrel with anyone.
