Pakistani superstar actor Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed’s controversial Indian web series ‘Barzakh’ has been removed from YouTube.
The producers of the web series ‘Barzakh’, made by Pakistani director Asim Abbasi for the Indian streaming website Zee Five, announced on social media last week that ‘Barzakh’ will be removed from YouTube on August 9.
Indian producers deleted all six episodes of ‘Barzakh’ from Zee Zindagi’s YouTube channel on the intervening night of August 9 and 10.
The first episode of ‘Barzakh’ was released on July 19 and the last episode on August 6 on Zee Zindagi’s YouTube channel.
All the episodes of the series were available on Zee Zindagi’s YouTube channel from 19th July to 9th August and almost all the episodes were watched by the users.
According to the Indian producers, ‘Barzakh’ has been removed from YouTube Pakistan only, meaning all the episodes of the series are still available on the YouTube platform of other countries including India.
It should be noted that the web series ‘Barzakh’ was filmed in the popular tourist destination of Pakistan, Hunza and Shahr Quaid. The cast of the series includes Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, Ayeza Gilani, Iman Sulaiman, Khushal Khan, Aniqa Zulfiqar Ali, Other artists including Salman Shahid and Franco Ghost were involved.
The series, written and directed by Pakistani director Asim Abbasi, faced severe criticism on social media after the airing of the third episode.
In ‘Barzakh’, homosexuality, obscenity, adultery and mentalization of children were also shown, due to which many showbiz personalities including Pakistani fans were demanding a ban on the series.
Pakistan’s famous fashion designer Maria B had also filed a ban petition against ‘Barzakh’ in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
However, the producers of Zee Zindagi deleted ‘Barzakh’ from YouTube before the PTA’s action.
