Islamabad: Three women members of PML-N have filed a review appeal against the Supreme Court’s decision on specific seats.
A review appeal was filed by Huma Akhtar Chaghatai, Mah Jabeen Abbasi and Syeda Amina Batul in the Supreme Court on behalf of PML-N. Sunni Ittehad Council and Election Commission among others have been made parties in the revision appeal.
In the revision appeal filed against the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the reserved seats, it has been held that it is an accepted fact that the Sunni Ittehad Council did not submit the list for the reserved seats. The entire case was related to certain seats in the Sunni Ittehad Council. Giving 15 days to the 41 members who voluntarily joined the Sunni Etihad Council to switch parties is tantamount to rewriting the constitution.
It has been further stated in the petition that the new method cannot be adopted apart from the rule laid down in the law. Majority decision is not under the constitution. The court is requested to annul the short majority decision of July 12.
