Lahore: Justice Alia Neelam took oath as the first woman Chief Justice of Lahore High Court.
Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider Khan administered the oath of office to Justice Alia Neelam in a ceremony held at Governor House Lahore. On reaching the Lahore High Court, the armed police saluted Justice Alia Neelam.
Justice Alia Neelam is a distinguished jurist with a career spanning over 2 decades. Justice Alia Neelam started her legal career in 1996. Justice Alia Neelam has special expertise in Constitution, Law, White Collar Crime, Civil, Criminal, Anti Terrorism Laws, NAB, Banking Crimes.
Justice Alia Neelam was appointed as Additional Judge of Lahore High Court in 2013. He was sworn in as a permanent judge on 16 March 2015. Justice Alia has also been the first woman administrative judge of Anti-Terrorism Court in Punjab. Justice Alia Neelam was instrumental in preparing the Standard Operating Procedure for recording evidence and statements during trials in e-Courts in Punjab.
