Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that all allies related to privatization will be taken into confidence.
Speaking in the Senate, Ishaq Dar said that the process of privatization will be transparent. As the head of CCOP, I will also ensure transparency. All government partners related to privatization will be taken into confidence.
He said that billions of rupees have been lost to the nation due to the loss of Pakistan Steel Mills. Can we afford this loss any longer? PTCL was sold to Etisalat during the Musharraf era. At that time three offers were received. After that many governments including the PTI government came, so why was this matter not resolved. We are trying to resolve this issue. Out of the 350 assets of PTCL, 150 are still not handed over to Etisalat. We took on thirty assets out of a hundred and fifty. Etisalat has done its own valuation of these assets. These properties were valued at $263 million, which is very low.
Ishaq Dar further said that the government first raised its voice for Gaza in the OIC. Pakistan also supported the Palestinians in the conference held in Amman. Pakistan has sent nine consignments to Palestine. There should be a case of war crimes against Israel. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif supported Palestine in clear words in the SCO yesterday. There was an appeal to help medical students in Gaza. I have directed the PMDC to facilitate the Palestinian students. The PMDC has allowed the Palestinian medical students to complete their studies.
