London: Social media star Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has been issued a legal notice of Rs 18 crore for defaming Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
A legal notice has been sent by Mian Mohammad Umair Niaz on behalf of Qaiser Munir Khan to the UK residence of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The notice states that if Chahat Fateh Ali Khan fails to respond within 15 days, a defamation case will be filed in the court.
In the legal notice, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has been accused of defaming the name of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and hurting the sentiments of the people of Faisalabad as well as violating the Copyright Act.
According to the legal notice, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan falsely claimed to be a relative of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and his singing has harmed Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s legacy.
The notice further states that Chahat Ali Khan’s singing has angered the people of Faisalabad.
The legal notice demands that Chahat Fateh Ali Khan apologize on social media and if he fails to respond or apologize within 15 days, legal action and a defamation suit of Rs 18 crore will follow.
