Riyadh: A record 2.2 Hajj pilgrims traveled in Saudi Arabia’s metro train service ‘Al-Mashar Train’.
To provide the best travel facilities, comfortable and safe means of transportation to the foreign pilgrims on Hajj and Umrah, the Al-Mashir train has transported a record number of pilgrims to their destination.
A statement released by Saudi Railways on social media said that 2.2 million pilgrims traveled on the Al-Mashir train during the Hajj season this year.
Officials said that 9 metro train stations between Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina in Makkah hosted Hajj pilgrims, while 2,206 metro train trips were run during Hajj.
On the first day of Hajj, 29,000 pilgrims were transported to their destination, while more than 292,000 pilgrims were provided with travel facilities from Mina to Arafat.
The Al-Mashir train transported more than 350,000 pilgrims from Arafat to Muzdalifah and 383,000 pilgrims from Muzdalifah to Mina during Hajj.
Also, 1.2 million pilgrims from Mina 1, Mina 2 and Muzdalifah 3 to Mina 3 station benefited from the Metro facility during Ayam Tashriq, which made it easy for pilgrims to reach Jamrat Bridge.
