Zong Digital Scholars Program to Empower 6,000 Young Women
ISLAMABAD, October 11, 2026: Zong has launched the next phase of its Digital Scholars Program in partnership with Knowledge Platform, aiming to equip 10,000 college and university students with artificial intelligence (AI), analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Announced in connection with the International Day of the Girl Child, the initiative underscores the companies’ commitment to digital inclusion and expanding opportunities for young women in Pakistan’s technology-driven economy.
The program has already reached more than 50,000 students, including over 5,000 young women, across more than 300 schools in 35 cities nationwide. Its latest phase marks a shift towards advanced digital learning, with a focus on preparing young people for an increasingly AI-driven world.
Over the next year, the initiative aims to engage 10,000 students through self-paced, game-based learning designed to strengthen their understanding of artificial intelligence, analytical thinking and problem-solving. The program seeks to bridge the gap between access to digital education and the practical skills required to participate in the evolving digital economy.
Women to Account for 60% of Targeted Participants
Young women will be a central focus of the expanded initiative, with approximately 6,000 female students expected to participate, representing 60% of the program’s targeted reach.
The initiative will maintain a nationwide presence while placing particular emphasis on underserved communities along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), where access to quality digital learning opportunities remains a priority.
Speaking on the occasion, Zong Director of Strategy and company spokesperson Nabila Yazdani said the company viewed technology as a means of creating meaningful and lasting impact beyond connectivity.
Through the Digital Scholars Program, she said, Zong was investing in future-ready skills, digital inclusion and greater participation of young women in the technology ecosystem.
She added that the company remained committed to using technology to expand opportunities, promote inclusion and generate sustainable social impact.
Knowledge Platform Chief Operating Officer Umair Ali said the partnership with Zong would help extend access to digital learning opportunities across Pakistan.
He said the initiative aimed to reach 10,000 students, with young women accounting for 60% of participants, while prioritising meaningful learning opportunities for communities with the greatest need.
Through the expanded partnership, Zong aims to support a more inclusive and digitally empowered Pakistan by investing in AI readiness, digital capabilities and women’s participation in technology.
The initiative is intended to help young people develop the skills needed to contribute to Pakistan’s digital transformation and participate in future innovation and economic opportunities.
