Dubai: The United Arab Emirates has said it will not support any plan by Israel without the establishment of a Palestinian state after the Gaza war.
According to Al Jazeera’s report, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in his statement on social media website X that the UAE is not ready to support any plan without establishing a Palestinian state after the war in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his plan after the Gaza war in May and claimed that the Palestinians would benefit when the plan was implemented.
Netanyahu’s plan would include investment in ports, solar power, electric car production and benefits from newly discovered Gaza gas fields, and was set up in three phases from the end of the Gaza war until 2035.
The plan stated that Palestinians in Gaza under Israeli occupation would have to follow the plan, which would be sponsored by Arab allies including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan and Morocco.
On the other hand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said in response that the lack of legal administration or similar measures for the implementation of this plan is clear that such a Gaza plan with the United Arab Emirates. No consultation has been done.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates also issued a statement in this regard and said that the United Arab Emirates will refuse to be part of any such plan, under which Israel is allowed to stay in the Gaza Strip.
It was further stated that when a Palestinian government is established which is in line with the hopes and aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people and is independent and stable, the UAE government will be ready to support the said government at all levels.
It should be noted that in the Gaza war started by Israel on October 7, 2023, more than 41 thousand 182 Palestinians were martyred and 95 thousand 280 were injured, while a total of 1 thousand 139 Israelis were killed in the attack of Hamas.
