Tel Aviv/Washington: Foreign media have claimed that the Israeli army has entered Lebanon, the ground forces are supported by the air force.
Israeli media say the Israel Defense Forces have begun ground operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon with “limited, localized and targeted raids”.
The Israeli military says the Israeli Air Force and IDF artillery are supporting ground forces with precision strikes on military targets in the area, with the ground operation aimed at targeting Hezbollah checkpoints in the border areas.
According to the news agency, the Lebanese army has moved back a few kilometers from the border areas, while the deputy leader of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, says that his group is ready for Israel’s ground operation.
