JI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam does not engage in the politics of arms, taking up arms against religious scholars is not jihad, doing so is terrorism.
Speaking at Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that today the doors and walls of Darul Uloom Haqqania are sad. After Maulana Samiul Haq, his son Maulana Hamidul Haq was also martyred. Such people are not mujahideen, they are murderers and criminals.
He said that after the martyrdom of Hamidul Haq, I realized that this attack was on my house and madrasa. I had received some information that an operation was being prepared on Darul Uloom Haqqania, on which I had told the state officials that if this happened, it would be expensive.
He said that madrasas and religious scholars will always exist, I am a cleric and the son of a cleric, we will protect our faith and ideology.
