Dr. Ejaz Waris Apologizes to Katrina Kaif
ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani radio host, Dr. Ejaz Waris, has apologized for making remarks about Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif’s weight after Salman Khan criticized people for trolling women over pregnancy-related weight gain.
Dr. Ejaz Waris shared a video on Instagram explaining that he watched Salman Khan’s comments on Bigg Boss 20 and realized that he should not have used such words while discussing Katrina Kaif.
The RJ said the remarks were made jokingly in an attempt to make his video more entertaining. However, he clarified that he did not intend to body-shame the actress.
Waris apologized to Katrina Kaif and others who may have been hurt by his comments. He also acknowledged that his words could have been offensive and said he wanted to take them back.
The controversy comes after Salman Khan addressed criticism directed at women whose bodies change during pregnancy. He said that gaining weight after pregnancy is normal and suggested that Katrina Kai f would be able to regain fitness when she returns to films.
The comments have since drawn attention to the wider discussion around body-shaming and public commentary on celebrities’ appearances.
