Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered deputy commissioners across the province to ensure strict implementation of the one-dish ban. The one-dish ban will also apply to wedding ceremonies in farmhouses and private properties. The administration was also directed to strictly monitor the one-dish ban in the relevant areas and take action as per the rules and penalties for one-dish violations.
Maryam Nawaz said that violation of one-dish rules in weddings puts a financial burden on parents who cannot afford it. The negative social effects of more than one dish in wedding ceremonies come to the fore. The administration should ensure the one-dish ban in the relevant areas at all costs. If a one-dish violation comes to light, the concerned deputy commissioner will be held responsible.
