The main convoy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is heading towards Islamabad under the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi to secure the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other demands. It has now entered Punjab territory and has reached Dhok Ghar near Burhan.
The convoy, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, includes central and provincial leaders and members of the assembly, including Asad Qaiser, Atif Khan, Shahram Tarakai, Faisal Javed.
The PTI convoy has entered Attock territory. As soon as it entered Punjab territory, the convoy was heavily shelled by the police.
In view of the PTI protest, the government has completely sealed the roads to Islamabad and erected barriers on most of the roads leading to the federal capital, while internet service has been suspended in the twin cities due to security concerns.
A large number of police, Rangers and FC personnel have been deployed on all roads leading to Islamabad, while motorways, GT Road and other roads have been blocked by placing containers.
