ISLAMABAD: Polling has started for the Supreme Court Bar Association elections in which 4 thousand 21 lawyers will elect the new president, secretary and other posts.
Asma Jahangir and Hamid Khan are competing for the Supreme Court Bar Elections. The polling process will continue from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
On behalf of Asma Jahangir Group, Mian Mohammad Rauf Atta is the candidate for President, while Malik Zahid Aslam Awan is the candidate for Secretary and Chohdi Tanveer Akhtar is the candidate for Finance Secretary.
Hamid Khan Group’s Munir Ahmed Kakar is the candidate for President, while Salman Siddiqui is the candidate for Secretary and Aurangzeb Mir is the candidate for Finance Secretary.
769 lawyers will exercise their right to vote in Supreme Court Registry Islamabad.
Lahore
The polling process for the annual Supreme Court Bar elections in Lahore started 15 minutes late, 17 candidates are facing each other on five seats. The largest number of 1,414 voters belong to Lahore.
There will be a contest between Rana Bakhtiar and Rana Ghulam Sarwar on the seat of Vice President of Punjab, while Mohammad Aurangzeb and Raja Zubair Hussain are in the contest for the seat of Additional Secretary.
