Petrol Price Cut by Rs3.63, Diesel Rises in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs3.63 per litre while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs0.31 per litre, according to an official notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Under the revised petroleum prices, petrol will now cost Rs390.23 per litre, down from its previous price, while high-speed diesel will be sold at Rs396.96 per litre.

The new prices came into effect on October 16, 2026, according to the notification.

The reduction in petrol prices is expected to provide some relief to motorcyclists, private vehicle owners and other petrol consumers amid rising transportation and household expenses.

However, the increase in diesel prices may add to operating costs in the transport, freight and agriculture sectors, where diesel is widely used.

Higher diesel costs can also affect the transportation of goods and business expenses, potentially putting additional pressure on supply chains and commodity prices.

The latest adjustment brings mixed relief for consumers, with petrol users benefiting from a price cut while diesel consumers face a slight increase.
