NADRA and NFA Team Up to Strengthen Pakistan’s Identity Security
Islamabad, August 18, 2026: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the National Forensics Agency (NFA) have joined hands to strengthen identity protection, forensic capabilities and scientific support for law enforcement through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement establishes a framework for closer institutional cooperation in areas where identity management and forensic expertise are essential to crime investigation and effective law enforcement.

Under the partnership, NADRA and NFA will enhance coordination on complex cases involving identity-related challenges, biometric disputes, identity fraud and forensic examination. The collaboration is also expected to improve identification and verification processes in cases requiring specialized expertise.
The two institutions will facilitate access to relevant forensic services in accordance with their respective legal mandates, procedures and applicable laws.

The initiative is aimed at promoting greater use of reliable, scientific and identity-based evidence in criminal investigations. Officials said the enhanced cooperation could contribute to stronger national security, improved law and order and more effective criminal justice processes.
Senior leadership and officials from both NADRA and NFA attended the MoU signing ceremony.
