Mobilink Bank, Yango Pakistan partner to enable Shariah-compliant financing and Embedded Insurance for Registered Drivers
ISLAMABAD, August 24, 2026: Mobilink Bank and Yango Pakistan have partnered to provide eligible ride-hailing drivers and couriers with access to Shariah-compliant vehicle and handset financing, embedded Takaful protection, and digital banking services.
The collaboration is aimed at strengthening financial inclusion in Pakistan’s growing gig economy by offering drivers financial products designed around their livelihood and business requirements.
Under the partnership, eligible Yango partner drivers can access Car Diminishing Musharakah financing of up to Rs5 million. Murabaha-based financing will also be available for motorcycles, e-bikes, rickshaws and mobile handsets, subject to eligibility criteria. Financing for rickshaws, motorcycles and handsets will also be available under applicable corporate guarantee arrangements.
The initiative goes beyond conventional asset financing by combining financing, insurance protection, digital payments, banking services and connectivity benefits into an integrated financial ecosystem for drivers.
Eligible financed customers will receive complimentary embedded Takaful coverage for the duration of their financing. The protection package includes income protection, hospitalization and maternity benefits for eligible women borrowers, as well as accidental death and permanent disability coverage.
Vehicle Takaful and additional asset-protection options will also be available under the partnership.
Mobilink Bank President and CEO Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary said the gig economy was creating a new generation of entrepreneurs, many of whom remained outside formal financial services.
He said the partnership would provide ride-hailing drivers with Shariah-compliant financing, protection and digital banking tools designed to strengthen their livelihoods and promote sustainable economic growth.
Yango Pakistan Country Head Miral Sharif said a vehicle was not merely an asset for a driver but the foundation of their earning potential.
She said access to suitable financing and protection could directly affect drivers’ ability to work, invest and grow, adding that the partnership would bring such solutions closer to eligible Yango partner drivers.
The partnership will also give eligible drivers and couriers access to Mobilink Bank’s digital banking and payment ecosystem. Services include digital account onboarding, Business Plus Account benefits, Raast QR payments and a dedicated Driver QR facility for fare collection.
Selected connectivity and handset benefits will further complement the financial solutions being offered under the collaboration.
The partnership reflects a broader push to connect Pakistan’s growing gig-economy workforce with formal financial services while helping drivers acquire and protect the productive assets they depend on for their income.
