India rattled by high-level military delegation visits between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
According to Indian media reports, New Delhi has been alerted by the visit of top Pakistani military and intelligence officials to Bangladesh and has said that it is closely monitoring the recent developments and will take appropriate action when it comes to national security.
“We are closely monitoring all developments in the country and the region, as well as all activities related to national security, and the government will take appropriate action,” the Indian foreign ministry spokesperson said in a weekly media briefing.
Indian media claimed that these remarks came at a time when a high-level delegation of Pakistan’s intelligence agency concluded its three-day visit to Bangladesh on Friday.
The report said that the visit was made after the recent visit of top Bangladeshi military officials to Pakistan, where the Bangladeshi delegation met the chiefs of all three armed forces of Pakistan.
The report said that after the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus has become closer to Pakistan, which is causing concern in India.
It may be recalled that in August last year, the sun of Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s 15-year rule had set forever due to the student movement.
Sheikh Hasina Wajid had fled to India to save her life and is still living there, while her Several corruption and murder cases are pending against him.
It may be recalled that last week, Army Chief General Asim Munir met with the Principal Staff Officer of the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, during which the security situation in the region was discussed.
The ISPR had said that according to him, the Principal Staff Officer of the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, Lieutenant General SM Qamarul Hassan, is on a visit to Pakistan and he met Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi.
The ISPR said that during the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the security situation in the region and finding more ways to enhance bilateral military cooperation.
