BERLIN: The ultra-conservative party CDU in Germany has won the early parliamentary elections.
The ultra-conservative party Christian Democratic Union (CDU) has taken the lead in the early parliamentary elections in Germany.
According to foreign media, Friedrich Meier’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) won 29 percent of the vote in the election results.
The far-right AfD party, which is opposed to the CDU, received 20 percent of the vote. It should be noted that the leader of this party is Alice Weidel and her party strongly opposes immigration.
Former Chancellor Olaf Scholz has admitted his defeat. His party SPD received only 16 percent of the vote, while the Green Party came in fourth with 12.3 percent of the vote.
The CDU’s victory in early parliamentary elections has paved the way for Friedrich Maier to become Germany’s new chancellor.
