Karachi: Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna starrer “Chhawaa” has become the highest-grossing film of 2025 by earning Rs 100 crore at the box office in just three days of its release. The film has done a brilliant business of Rs 119.5 crore in three days.
The story of “Chhawaa” is based on the historical war between Chhatrapati Sambhaji and Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, in which Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, while Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Aurangzeb. Directed by Laxman Atekar, the film did excellent business in advance bookings and did a record business of Rs 33.10 crore on the first day of its release.
The film earned Rs 31 crore on Friday, Rs 35 crore on Saturday and Rs 48.5 crore on Sunday. Thus, the total business of the film in three days reached Rs 119.5 crore.
The film is also close to crossing the Rs 150 crore mark globally, as it has earned Rs 148.95 crore in the global market in three days.
“Chhawa” has proved to be the highest-grossing film of Vicky Kaushal’s career, as it is his first film to earn the highest in its first weekend. A budget of Rs 130 crore was allocated for the production of the film.
“Chhawa” has broken several major records in its first week, including the records of Hrithik Roshan’s “Tiger Fighter” (Rs 115 crore), Deepika Padukone’s “Padmaavat”, Prabhas and Deepika’s “Kalki 2898 AD”, Kartik Aaryan’s “Bhool Bhul 3” and Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” (Rs 105 crore).
