Asim Munir Reviews Counter-Terrorism Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
PESHAWAR, September 22, 2026: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Tuesday and reviewed the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief was briefed on ongoing counter-terrorism operations, border management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed across the province.
Field Marshal Asim Munir commended the high morale, readiness and professionalism of officers and troops, acknowledging their continued commitment to safeguarding the country and its people.
He directed the formations to maintain vigilance and ensure the highest standards of operational preparedness. The COAS & CDF also emphasised that the Armed Forces, with the support of the nation, remain determined to combat terrorism and contribute to lasting peace and stability across the country.
During his visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha in remembrance of those who lost their lives defending the country and fighting terrorism.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the fallen, reaffirming that their contributions and supreme sacrifices would always be remembered.
Upon arrival at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, the COAS & CDF was received by the Commander Peshawar Corps.
