Angelina Jolie Raises Her Voice for Gaza, Calls for Urgent Humanitarian Aid

The Hollywood star shared satellite images showing the devastation in Gaza and stressed the need for shelter, medical supplies and reconstruction support before winter.

American actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has drawn attention to the devastating situation in Gaza, sharing satellite images on Instagram that highlight the widespread destruction across the territory.

Angelina Jolie pointed to images available through Google Earth, saying they show the scale of destruction in Gaza, where entire neighborhoods have reportedly been reduced to rubble. She highlighted damage to homes, schools, universities, hospitals and other essential infrastructure.

The actress emphasized the urgent need to provide shelter and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza before the arrival of winter. She also called for hospitals to receive essential medical supplies and for people to be given the conditions necessary to begin rebuilding their lives and communities.

Her comments come amid continuing international concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the extensive destruction caused by the conflict.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Board of Peace has proposed a reconstruction plan involving an estimated $2.45 billion in spending over six months. The plan reportedly includes 66 programs aimed at restoring Gaza’s infrastructure and economy, much of which has been severely damaged during Israeli military operations.

According to Reuters, officials presented details of the reconstruction proposal at an event held in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. However, officials acknowledged uncertainty surrounding the plan as disagreements over the terms of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire continue.

The humanitarian crisis and the future of Gaza’s reconstruction remain major international concerns, with calls growing for sustained aid, medical assistance, shelter and conditions that would allow civilians to rebuild their lives.
