VERMONT, US: The American people demonstrated against US Vice President JD Vance for insulting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office of the White House on Friday.
JD Vance was coming to the Waitsfield area of Vermont in the United States with his family for a picnic. Protesters also chose the same area where the Vice President was supposed to pass to demonstrate against JD Vance.
The protesters held slogans and banners in favor of Ukraine and aimed to send a message to Vance and his family.
According to American media, Vance’s family moved to an unknown location after the protests instead of their expected ski resort.
Hundreds of people also protested in support of Ukraine in New York, Los Angeles and Boston on Saturday.
In the rare White House meeting, Vance accused the Ukrainian president of mistreat- ing the United States. Trump also told Zelensky to make a deal with Russia or we’ll back down and accused him of playing World War III.
The protest in Waitsfield had already been organized earlier this week, but more people joined after Zelensky’s altercation with Trump and Vance. Protest organizers said the incident had only served to galvanize the crowd.
US Vice President J.D. Vance, who was traveling to Vermont with his wife, Usha, and three children, has yet to make a public statement on the protests.
Trump and Vance supporters also held protests in Waitsfield.
