New Delhi: After the Modi government came to power for the third time, there has been an extraordinary increase in incidents of intimidation, harassment and violence against minorities by the majority Hindu organizations.
According to the report, incidents of violence against Muslims, desecration of mosques and inflammatory and insulting comments against Islam have become normal in India. Muslim organizations including Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and All India Muslim Majlis Vashavrat have strongly condemned Swami Narsingh Anand’s anti-Islamic denunciation.
Leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) openly support Muslim and anti-Islamic people and organizations. Hindu extremist Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and BJP central leader Adityanath, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP MPs like Sakshi Maharaj are among the leaders who use language that incites religious sentiments not only themselves. Rather, they give praise to others as well. These hate speeches and spate of violence are not just a temporary problem but a sign of a dangerous tradition against Muslims where anti-Islam sectarian sentiments and violence are becoming common.
