Family Claims Anchor Was Taken from Iqrar-ul-Hassan DHA Residence
LAHORE, October 12, 2026: Reports have emerged that well-known Pakistani television anchor Iqrar -ul-Hassan was arrested from his residence in DHA Phase 8, Lahore, during the early hours of Monday.
According to claims made by his family, personnel dressed in plain clothes took him from his home at around 3:00 a.m.
Reports further stated that female personnel were also present with the team and that their badges identified them as members of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Television anchor Waseem Badami, who has worked with Iqrar-ul-Hassan on several programmes, also confirmed in a video that he had received information regarding the reported arrest.
However, the reason for the reported arrest and details of any case against Iqrar-ul-Hassan have not yet been made public. An official confirmation from the relevant authorities was also awaited at the time of reporting.
Iqrar-ul-Hassan is a former television anchor and the head of the political party Pakistan Awam Raj Tehreek.
