GTA 6 Drops 26-Minute Gameplay Reveal — Here’s What’s New
Rockstar Games has given Grand Theft Auto fans a detailed look at the highly anticipated GTA 6, releasing nearly 27 minutes of new gameplay footage that highlights the game’s characters, action sequences, activities and evolving world.
The 26-minute-and-48-second footage was captured entirely from in-game gameplay on PlayStation 5. The preview was also reportedly made available on Netflix before appearing on YouTube, adding another unusual twist to the game’s promotional campaign.
GTA 6 will follow Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, whose relationship is expected to play an important role throughout the storyline. Players will be able to switch between the two protagonists during certain missions, while some tasks will be designed specifically for one character.
The latest footage showcases a wide range of action, including shootouts, police car chases, hand-to-hand combat and slow-motion sequences. Rockstar has also introduced more dynamic character development, with Jason and Lucia’s physical appearance changing according to their activities and style of play.
Exercise can make the characters appear stronger, while fatigue and other activities can also influence their appearance, adding another layer of realism to the gameplay experience.
The game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by the US state of Florida, and features the return of Vice City. Beyond its main storyline, players will have access to a variety of recreational and sporting activities.
The gameplay preview features swimming, scuba diving, jet skiing, kayaking, skydiving, street racing, basketball, workouts and nightlife activities, suggesting that GTA 6 will offer a highly interactive open-world experience.
GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games has not yet announced a release date for the PC version.
