Islamabad: The tragic deaths of 14 newborn babies in a fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have sparked grief and anger across Pakistan, with several showbiz personalities demanding accountability and a thorough investigation.
The fire erupted early Wednesday in the nursery on the third floor of PIMS’ Mother and Child Health Ward, where newborn babies were receiving treatment. According to officials, 14 infants lost their lives while one baby was rescued.
The heartbreaking incident prompted strong reactions from members of Pakistan’s entertainment industry, who expressed condolences to the affected families and questioned whether those responsible would ultimately be held accountable.
