Gold Prices Soar for Fifth Straight Day, Cross Rs457,000 Per Tola
ISLAMABAD, August 10, 2026: Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend for the fifth consecutive day on Monday, with the price of one tola of gold increasing by Rs800.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Association, the latest increase pushed the price of one tola of gold to Rs457,336 in the domestic market.
The price of 10 grams of gold also rose by Rs685, reaching Rs392,091.
Gold prices also strengthened in the international market, where the price of an ounce increased by $8 to $4,349.
Meanwhile, the price of silver also recorded an increase in the local market. One tola of silver became Rs6,903 after rising by Rs77.
Gold Gains Rs29,400 in Five Days
The latest increase marks the fifth consecutive daily rise in gold prices. During the past five days, the price of one tola of gold has surged by Rs29,400, reflecting continued volatility in both international and domestic bullion markets.
Market analysts attribute fluctuations in gold prices to several global factors, including economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, central bank monetary policies and movements in the US dollar.
Changes in international gold prices are quickly reflected in Pakistan’s local bullion market, influencing both investment demand and jewellery prices.
High Prices Affect Jewellery Demand
The sustained increase in gold prices has also raised concerns among jewellery buyers. Traders in the local bullion market say that higher prices have reduced buying activity, with many consumers now purchasing gold mainly to meet essential or unavoidable needs.
Gold remains a popular investment and store of value in Pakistan, but continued price increases are putting additional pressure on household budgets and the jewellery sector.
