Islamabad (Timeline News ) : Under the auspices of Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry, the fifth Pakistan Tourism and Hospitality Investment Summit and Smart Expo was held in Quaid-e-Azam Grand Hall Room, Montague, Birmingham. Exhibition of Industry Chairman Fahad Barlas inaugurated the formal ceremony. The summit was attended by a large number of Pakistani community, investors, businessmen, diplomatic representatives and people from different walks of life from across the UK.
The ceremony was attended by Lord Mayor of Birmingham Chaudhry Zakerullah, Consul General of Pakistan Fahad Amjad, Dr. Nasir Awan, Lord Lieutenant, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sardar Tahir Mehmood. Chief organizer of the ceremony and founding chairman of Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry M. Khurshid Barlas and Fahad Barlas welcomed the guests Lord Mayor of Birmingham Chaudhry Zakerullah, addressing the ceremony, urged the overseas Pakistanis to play their role in the development of Pakistan and take advantage of investment opportunities, which will not only bring economic benefits to them but also strengthen the country’s economy.
Consul General of Pakistan Fahad Amjad said that the fifth Pakistan Tourism and Hospitality Investment Summit and Smart Expo will be an important milestone in Pakistan-UK relations. It is very important to have such conferences between Great Britain and Pakistan. This will help in increasing mutual cooperation between the two countries at the commercial, diplomatic and business level. Khurshid Barlas said to the speakers that our goal is how to bring investment to Pakistan, how to increase exports, how to highlight the position of Pakistan.
We need to take steps to introduce Pakistani products globally. The speakers said that the Government of Pakistan is taking steps to provide favorable investment environment and facilities for Overseas Pakistanis. He said that there are valuable opportunities for overseas Pakistanis in real estate, minerals, IT, tourism and other sectors.
At the end of the ceremony, it was expressed that such international forums provide a strong platform for Pakistani investors abroad to play an effective role in the development of the country along with highlighting the positive image of Pakistan around the world. In the end, the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry later distributed honorary shields to the personalities who have rendered outstanding services in various fields of life.
