Chief Minister Punjab said that honhar scholarship and laptop distribution ceremony is not just a traditional event, but it is a celebration of a mother for her child’s success, as she has come here to celebrate the victory of her children. She noted that the passion with which children recited national songs and waved flags gave her a lot of courage, as she is confident that the children will not let the green crescent flag fall. She highlighted that seeing children’s enthusiasm, all her fatigue has vanished. She underscored that she has come here from far away to meet her children, laptops could have been delivered to homes or classrooms, but then a meeting wouldn’t have been possible.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted that whatever resources Punjab has, she desires to spend them all for her children. She said,”I tell my children, dream. I stand behind you like a rock, as now, no child will be deprived of education due to lack of resources. She noted that scholarships are being given strictly on merit basis. She also congratulated the universities, colleges, and all their teachers for earning this honor. She added that she stands humbly before Allah Almighty that no one has received a laptop or scholarship beyond merit, as while giving laptops or scholarships, no one was asked about his political affiliation. If they have worked hard, they deserve the reward. She is proud of all her children.

Chief Minister Punjab noted that her heart felt heavy hearing about the hardships of a child who came from Muzaffargarh. She said that a girl told her that four sisters had only one laptop; they had to take turns using it. She added that she is happier than the children themselves about their outstanding performance. She flashed that a Guard of Honour is given to a Head of State. Today, her children were also given a Guard of Honour. She was happy that the future of her country, Gen Z, is on the right path, as these very children have to take over reins of the country.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that 2026 has been declared as the Year of Youth, so the country’s future is now in the hands of children, as these very children have to study and become doctors, engineers, and scientists. She added that personally, she does not want anything from children, she only asks for love for the homeland, as they should thank Allah Almighty for this sacred land. She underscored that beyond Attock is KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), where children are taught abuses and given weapons in their hands. Their minds are filled with violence, and they are asked to shut down livelihoods and go around burning tyres. They are asked to grab sticks, shut down businesses, shut down schools, as a result, the province becomes like a closed prison. She juxtaposed that Punjab’s children have Honhar Scholarships, laptops, and Parwaaz Cards in their hands, while in KPK, they are handed over petrol bombs and weapons. She noted that here is talent, while there is anarchy, which is certainly not a matter of joy for her, because she is a Pakistani first, then a Punjabi.
Chief Minister Punjab said that there has been one government in KPK for the last 13 years, but innocent people are living in stone age there; they don’t know what development is. She added that no one knows what development means, as they just keep saying that they are ‘raising consciousness.’ She noted that blocking roads in KPK doesn’t affect Punjab or Sindh, as she learnt that due to roadblocks, several people in KPK have lost their lives in ambulances. She underscored that the strike call was given by a few billionaires, telling people to pick up sticks and shut down shops.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that for children to travel to and from schools and colleges, Green Bus is completely free. She added that after technical training, students are provided with Parwaaz Card to go abroad. She highlighted that the youth is also supported for starting a business or doing farming. She noted,”Look at the talented children of Punjab, they are not alone; behind them, their CM stands like a wall. She believed that rudeness, vandalism, broken and dilapidated roads cannot be the destiny of KPK’s children.

Chief Minister Punjab noted that power slips through hands like sand, as yesterday, they were in jail; but today, Allah Almighty has given them authority. Today it’s with one, tomorrow with another. It is a trust from Allah Almighty. She added that her 72-year-old father fell ill in jail, had a heart attack, but they mocked him and his illness. She noted that she was in jail with her father, when her late mother got cancer, but they mocked her mother’s illness, saying she wasn’t really sick, when her mother was in ICU of a London hospital, some people dressed in doctor’s uniforms entered her room. She lamented that here, a person has to die to prove his illness. She recalled that when her mother passed away, her father came to her cell and told her, “Your mother has gone to Allah.” She swore on oath that neither Nawaz Sharif, nor Shehbaz Sharif, nor she ever even thought of turning off someone’s food or TV in jail, rather Nawaz Sharif said, “If there’s one AC, give him two.”
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recalled that despite not being in politics, she was imprisoned in NAB jail as the First Lady. She said that they didn’t have a women’s jail, and the jail official used to say, “We have looked at Nawaz Sharif’s illnesses; there was a long list.” She said that they can have differences, but mocking illnesses is not right, as turning politics into enmity is wrong. She urged upon children never to do this, and never turn politics into personal enmity. She added that time turns and comes back. They should not even curse their political enemy. She lamented that they kept mocking her father’s grief-stricken face after her mother’s death. She said,”Children, you must not do what these people do. Do not wish ill of anyone, rather pray for the recovery of those who are sick.” She advised them to remove personalities from politics, and throw out lies, anarchy, and strife.
Chief Minister Punjab noted that people in KPK also now ask, “Where is Punjab going while we are still in the stone age?” She said that she often remembers that verse: “Your Lord is not forgetful.” She highlighted that they have to protect every particle of this sacred land, and do not create riots and chaos or set fire to properties and green belts.
