Pakistan Economic Sovereignty Underscored by US Charge d’Affaires.
Islamabad:US Charge d’Affaires in Pakistan Natalie A. Baker has said that Pakistan is an independent country and should not get caught in the clutches of any country’s debt, Pakistan should fully implement its privatization program.
Pakistan’s economic strategy will be successful only with the full implementation of the IMF reform program. The IMF wants such economic reforms in Pakistan that will lead to making it a better and sustainable economy. The World Bank is also cooperating with Pakistan effectively.
US Reaffirms Commitment to ( Pakistan Economic Sovereignty )
While talking to journalists informally at the President’s Office, she said that I have been to different cities of Pakistan. I have not been to Azad Kashmir yet, I want to go.
She said that the US’s cooperation with Pakistan in the economic field is already going very well, Pakistan’s sovereignty is very important for the US and the US is helping Pakistan wholeheartedly.
On China-Pakistan Relations ( Pakistan Economic Sovereignty )
In response to a question about Pakistan’s close ties with China, she said that Pakistan is an independent and sovereign country, which can have relations with any country in the world, but it must carefully protect its economic sovereignty and interests.
Any project that leads to a debt trap for any country is a cause of concern for the entire world.
Trump Visit Expected Soon
Washington is fully aware of the sensitive nature of Pakistan-China relations. To a question, she said that President Donald Trump will visit Pakistan as soon as he gets time from his busy international responsibilities. This visit is expected soon.
President Trump is a peace advocate and Pakistan has rightly nominated his name for the Nobel Prize. She came to attend the ceremony of conferring the country’s highest civilian award, the “Nishan-e-Pakistan”, on King Abdullah II of Jordan by President Asif Ali Zardari.
