The enemies of the country continue to spread unrest in Balochistan. In the latest incident, unknown terrorists have opened fire on a train (Jafar Express) going from the provincial capital Quetta to the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, in Machh. There are 500 passengers on the train.

The latest incident of terrorism in Balochistan has taken place in the area between Gudlar and Peru Kanri in Machh, where firing was carried out on the Jafar Express going from Quetta to Peshawar, resulting in the injury of the train driver.

Railway sources say that emergency has been imposed in all hospitals in Sibi and a heavy contingent of security forces has been called.

Controller Railway Muhammad Kashif Jafar Express consists of 9 bogies, about 500 passengers are on board, the train was stopped by armed men in tunnel number 8, efforts are being made to contact the passengers and staff.

The Balochistan government spokesperson said that there were reports of heavy firing between Gudalur and Peru Kanri on the Jaffar Express going from Quetta to Peshawar.

According to the Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, an emergency has been imposed in the hospitals of Sibi, ambulances have been sent to the scene of the incident, due to the mountainous and difficult terrain, there are difficulties in reaching the scene of the incident, a relief train has been sent to the scene by the Railways Department.

The spokesperson said that security forces have left for the said area, the nature of the incident and possible terrorist aspects are being examined, according to initial reports, the incident may be a terrorist act, however, preliminary investigations will be started now, the Balochistan government has directed all relevant institutions to take emergency measures, it has been said that all institutions are active, the public should remain peaceful and do not listen to rumors.

On the other hand, railway sources told Dawn that the Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express was attacked by armed men near the Mashkaf area of ​​Bolan district. Railway officials have confirmed an armed attack on a passenger train coming from Quetta. According to railway officials, the train driver was injured in the firing, security forces reached the spot and heavy firing is ongoing.

Meanwhile, an emergency has also been imposed in Civil Hospital Quetta after the firing on the Jaffar Express.

Balochistan Health Department Spokesperson Dr. Waseem Baig Civil Hospital Quetta said that all consultants, doctors, pharmacists, staff nurses and paramedical staff have been summoned to the hospital.

It should be noted that Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces have been the target of terrorists for some time now, however, security forces have arrested several important terrorists during this time and foiled several plans.

On the other hand, there are reports circulating on social media that a banned organization has claimed responsibility for the firing incident on the Jaffar Express, however, they could not be confirmed.

It may be recalled that this week, three people were killed in a shooting at a jewelry shop in Hub, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leaders Ghulam Sarwar and Maulvi Amanullah were ambushed and targeted by shooting at a vehicle in Khuzdar, terrorists set fire to about a dozen bowsers and vehicles on the coastal highway, and four people were killed in an explosion in Khuzdar’s Nal Bazaar tehsil.

Security sources had said that four terrorists were arrested after an operation in Balochistan, and more evidence of infiltration into Pakistan from Afghanistan had come to light.
