An extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by the member states of the organization, where Pakistan was represented by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the meeting, the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, forced displacement and plans to annex their land were discussed. The foreign ministers unanimously supported the reconstruction of Gaza under the Arab plan and rejected any statement of forcible expulsion of the Palestinian people from Gaza.
Addressing the meeting, OIC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha said that the organization fully supports the Arab League’s reconstruction plan for Gaza. He emphasized that the Palestinian people not only have the full right to live in their own land but also have the right to play their role on the global stage as a sovereign state.
Hussein Ibrahim Taha strongly condemned the crimes committed by Israel, such as the desecration of Jerusalem, the arrests and martyrdom of Palestinian youth. He urged the international community to take immediate and effective measures to stop Israeli atrocities.
Addressing the meeting, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan stands with the Palestinian people and fully supports the Arab League’s decision. He stressed that along with the reconstruction of Gaza, it is also important for Israel to stop the ongoing atrocities against the Palestinians and abide by international law.
In this OIC meeting, member states expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemned the Israeli aggression and called on the international community to take immediate and concrete measures to protect the rights of the Palestinian people.
