On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, clear relief has been given in the prices of flour and sugar across the province.
DG Food Punjab Shoaib Khan Jadoon said that relief of Rs 25 to 75 is being given on a 10 kg bag in Gujranwala, Gujarat and Rawalpindi.
He said that relief of Rs 20 to 80 is being given in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Sahiwal divisions, while Rs 30 to 85 is being given on a 10 kg bag in Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan.
DG Food Punjab said that 1250 bags of flour have been sold in the government relief markets during the last 24 hours and 1730 kg of sugar has been sold.
On the other hand, DC Islamabad has decided to provide relief to the citizens during Ramadan. Fair price shops will be established at 17 locations in Islamabad.
Here, food and drink items will be available to the citizens at wholesale rates. The district administration has assigned responsibilities to all the assistant commissioners.
