The Sindh High Court has ordered to approach Interpol for the arrest of the absconding accused Hammad Siddiqui in the Baldia Factory Karachi tragedy case.
The Sindh High Court has also summoned the focal person of the Sindh Home Department regarding the absconding accused Khurram Nisar for the upcoming hearing.
During the hearing in the Sindh High Court, it was informed by the Deputy Attorney General that Taqi Haider, Hammad Siddiqui and Khurram Nisar are absconding, papers related to Taqi Haider have been sent to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The court directed that the help of Interpol be sought for the arrest of the absconding accused Hammad Siddiqui, and the accused should be arrested by approaching the Interpol authorities.
It may be recalled that on September 11, 2023, the Sindh High Court rejected the appeals against the death sentence of accused Abdul Rehman Bhola and Zubair Charia in the Baldia Factory tragedy case.
The Sindh High Court had reserved its verdict on the appeals against the punishment of the perpetrators of the Baldi Factory tragedy. The court rejected the appeals against the death penalty of Abdul Rehman Bhola and Zubair Charia and ordered the hanging of the accused to be upheld.
The court had accepted the appeals against the sentence of the four accused Shahrukh, Fazal, Arshad Mahmood, Ali Muhammad, who were sentenced to life imprisonment.
In addition, the court had also rejected the government’s appeal against the acquittal of MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui, Abdul Sattar, Iqbal Adib Khanum and Omar Hassan.
