Chief Minister Sindh inaugurated the 9th annual conference of the Interventional Radiology Society of Pakistan (IRSP), Syed Murad Ali Shah also visited the stalls set up at the conference.

Interventional radiology has revolutionized modern healthcare through non-invasive procedures.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that the integration of latest imaging technology has reduced the need for traditional surgeries, the role of interventional radiologists is important in treating life-threatening diseases, the Sindh government is striving for medical infrastructure, training programs and modern technology, the Sindh government is committed to strengthening the health sector.
He said that equipping hospitals with the latest interventional radiology units is the need of the hour, we will ensure the best possible training to provide world-class treatment to healthcare professionals, the Sindh government has initiated several initiatives to further enhance health.
He said that the establishment of Sindh Institute of Advanced Medical Sciences is focused on specialized medical education and research, we have expanded the Sindh People’s Health Program, are providing mobile health units and telemedicine services in remote areas, are also upgrading tertiary care hospitals for accessible and affordable treatment to citizens, we are working to increase public-private partnership in the health sector.
Murad Ali Shah said that our aim is to bridge the gap between technological advancement and practical health provision, ensuring that the people of Sindh benefit from the latest medical facilities, this conference will provide an invaluable platform for experts, researchers and practitioners.

Murad Ali Shah said that Jinnah Hospital has played a revolutionary role in the field of oncology and radiology in Pakistan. Cancer treatment is done at Jinnah Hospital with the modern facility of painless and non-surgical treatment. Jinnah Hospital provides free treatment to patients from all over Pakistan in Karachi. In August 2024, JPMC inaugurated the latest CyberKnife S7-FIM system. The CyberKnife S7-FIM system is a modern robotic technology that is used to eliminate cancer patients.
He said that the Radiation Oncology Department of Jinnah Hospital has two CyberKnife units, two Tomotherapy units and Equinox 100 system. Jinnah Hospital is among the ten best technical centers in the world. These facilities provide highly accurate treatment for early-stage cancer.
Murad Ali Shah said that these facilities include prostate, brain, spine, lung, liver and head and neck cancers. Since 2012, Jinnah Hospital is the only center in the world that has been providing free cancer treatment through CyberKnife and Tomotherapy technologies.
Patients from 15 countries and 167 cities of Pakistan have benefited from Jinnah Hospital Karachi. The best oncology services are provided at Jinnah Hospital. The radiology department is also equipped with MRI and CT scan machines.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has further enhanced the capabilities of Jinnah Hospital. In November 2024, TİKA provided modern ultrasound devices to Jinnah Hospital, which has improved its diagnostic services.
