The swearing-in ceremony of new judges in the Supreme Court, which was to be held today, has been postponed.
According to Supreme Court sources, the swearing-in ceremony of 6 permanent and 1 temporary judge was to be held today, but it will now be held on Friday.
Sources said that the swearing-in ceremony was postponed due to delay in the notification of the judges. The Law Ministry had issued the notification for the appointment of new judges late last night.
It should be noted that President Asif Ali Zardari had approved the appointment of 6 permanent and 1 temporary judge in the Supreme Court.
The new judges include Justice Hashim Kakar, Justice Shafi Siddiqui, Justice Salahuddin Panhor, Justice Shakeel Ahmed, Justice Aamir Farooq, and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim.
