Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called the statement of his American counterpart useless and said that no one has the courage to expel the people of Gaza from their homeland.
According to a report by the news agency Turkey Today, while addressing a press conference at Istanbul Airport late at night before leaving for Malaysia, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, “No one has the power to expel the people of Gaza from their eternal homeland that has existed for thousands of years. Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem belong to the Palestinians.”
President Erdogan criticized the US administration’s proposals on Gaza, saying that these proposals have been presented under pressure from the Zionist government. He rejected US President Donald Trump’s plan to transfer the Palestinians and called it non-negotiable.
Regarding Syria, President Erdoğan condemned the Assad regime, saying that mass graves discovered in various parts of Syria are exposing its cruel actions.
Erdoğan expressed hope for the stability of Syria under the leadership of President Ahmed al-Shara, saying that peace would soon be established in the country.
President Erdoğan said that there is no place for terrorist groups in Syria and that President al-Shara will fight against these groups.
President Erdoğan also praised Hamas for keeping its promises despite Israeli efforts to disrupt the prisoner exchange process.
It should be noted that US President Trump’s proposal to expel more than 2 million Palestinians living in Gaza and rebuild it has drawn strong international reactions and has angered the Arab and Muslim world.
Earlier, in an interview with Palestinian television on Sunday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan rejected the idea of forcibly expelling Palestinians from Gaza.
According to Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency, the Turkish Foreign Minister called Trump’s proposal historically ignorant and said that the displacement of Palestinians was unacceptable.
