Islamabad: The government has declared a day of mourning on February 8 for the death of Prince Karim Aga Khan, the 49th spiritual leader of the Ismaili community.
According to the notification, the national flag will also be flown at half-mast across the country on February 8 in connection with the day of mourning on the death of Prince Karim Aga Khan.
It should be noted that the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, Prince Karim Aga Khan, passed away on February 4 in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, at the age of 88.
The Ismaili Imamat Diwan has said in a statement that the funeral prayer of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV will be offered at the Ismaili Center in Lisbon at 11 am on February 8, 2025 and he will be buried in Aswan on February 9.
Following the death of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, his son Prince Rahim Aga Khan V has been appointed as the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, in accordance with tradition.
The Ismaili community will hold a ceremony of allegiance or obedience on February 11 in Lisbon, according to the announcement.
