Islamabad: The Grand Opposition Alliance has started considering calling an APC of opposition parties in which current political, economic, constitutional and security-related issues will be discussed.
According to sources, the opposition leadership stressed the need for democratic forces to unite under a common platform to address the challenges facing the country and said that the agenda of the opposition alliance is to restore the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law.
Lawyers, academicians, farmers, civil society and people from various sectors will be invited to the conference.
The Grand Opposition Alliance, together with other parties, will not only consider the ongoing crises in the country due to the government’s negligence, but also play its role in dealing with it and moving the country in the right direction.
Sources say that the issue of calling an APC came up in the opposition alliance’s meeting with former PPP senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar. For the past few days, the opposition alliance has contacted various political parties and leaders to discuss the ongoing political situation in the country and find a solution to the problems.
Sources also say that the opposition alliance may also contact former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry and ask him to join the alliance.
Since Fawad Chaudhry’s return to PTI has not been decided yet, he can play an effective role by joining the Grand Opposition Alliance.
