Karachi: The annual colorful mass wedding ceremony organized by the Pakistan Hindu Council and Dr. Prem Kumar Setal Das Memorial Trust was held in Shahr-e-Quaid, in which more than a hundred Hindu couples tied the knot under the patronage of prominent minority parliamentarian Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani.
On this occasion, the Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council and the Head of the Dr. Prem Kumar Setal Das Memorial Trust, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, said in a conversation with the media that minorities enjoy complete religious freedom in Pakistan. Dr. Ramesh Kumar further said that by building a house for poor and needy couples, one gets spiritual peace. I am proud that I have married more than 1600 Hindu couples so far. Every year, I start the new year by getting 125 couples married.
At the 18th annual mass wedding ceremony held at the Railway Ground Karachi, decorated with electric lights and colorful lights, wedding processions and couples from all over the country, including Sindh, arrived at the venue in cars and buses, where they were enthusiastically welcomed to the sound of shehnais and the beat of drums. There was a full participation of prominent personalities from various fields, including business, social and foreign ambassadors, and dowry items were also distributed to the newlyweds.
A large number of families of the newlyweds were also present at the mass wedding ceremony, who expressed their happiness over the marriage of their children and thanked the Pakistan Hindu Council and Dr. Prem Kumar Setal Das Memorial Trust.
The guests said that organizing such a magnificent ceremony for deserving Hindu couples in the era of inflation is a great achievement. The Hindu community of Pakistan eagerly awaits this commemorative ceremony every year.
During the mass wedding ceremony, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani also offered special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and the promotion of religious harmony across the country, in which all the guests transcended religious differences and presented an excellent example of interfaith harmony and national unity.
