The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) negotiation committee has not yet been informed about the meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, without meeting the PTI founder, there may be a deadlock in the negotiations.
Sources say that the lawyers had also submitted a request for a meeting to the jail administration yesterday, in which permission has been sought to hold the meeting in an open environment. However, the lawyers have not been told anything by the jail administration yet.
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said in this regard that there is no deadlock in the negotiations, however, a meeting with the founder should be arranged, if the PTI founder is not met, there will be no point in the third negotiation session.
Salma Akram Raja said that in the first session, the government had promised to hold a meeting, they also contacted the Speaker, reminded him, but nothing is happening, the reason for not holding a meeting with the PTI founder is not being given.
He said that if our two demands are accepted, then more issues including elections will be discussed. We are in Islamabad to meet the founder of PTI. The meeting can be held today.
Party sources say that the PTI negotiation committee is optimistic about the meeting today. Without meeting the founder, the talks may reach a deadlock.
It should be noted that the mission of negotiations between PTI and the government is stalled. PTI had demanded a meeting with the founder of PTI to finalize the demands, but the time for the meeting was not finalized, so PTI has come on the back foot.
It is likely that after meeting with the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, PTI will decide on a written charter of demands. In case of accepting the charter, PTI will also have to sign a written agreement with the government.
