Former Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani has said that the federal government should consult with allies, opposes the construction of new canals on the Indus River, if Sindh is abused, every Sindhi will come out.
Talking to the media after the hearing in the accountability court, Agha Siraj Durrani said that the relevant judge has retired, a decision could not be taken on our request, the new judge who will come will decide.
He said that the media trial has been going on for 30 years, every time honorable people have been acquitted in the cases, we always face cases, the series of cases on political grounds should end now.
He said that the PPP resists, due to which cases are registered against us, the party leadership has taught us to face cases, if the case goes on, lies and truth all come to light.
Agha Siraj Durrani said that the federal government should consult with allies, Asif Zardari empowered the parliament.
He said that he opposes the construction of new canals on the Indus River, if Sindh is abused, every Sindhi will come out, he wants the country to run according to the constitution, all students living in the province have equal rights.
Earlier, the accountability court heard a reference against former Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani and others for allegedly disclosing assets from income.
The hearing was held in the link court due to the leave of the concerned judge, the link judge remarked that the High Court should appoint a new judge or direct a re-hearing.
The court adjourned the hearing of the reference until February 13 without taking any action.
Agha Siraj Durrani and others have filed a petition against the jurisdiction of the accountability court.
