Gujranwala: FIA has arrested 9 accused including human smuggler involved in Greek and Libyan boat accidents.
According to FIA officials, the arrested accused were identified as Muhammad Shafiq, Azmat Ali, Khizr Hayat, Mirza Sikandar, Muhammad Nawaz, Shahid Amin, Shahzad Yousuf, Zafar Iqbal, Asad Abbas, who were arrested from different areas of Gujranwala and Gujarat.
The accused are involved in illegally sending innocent citizens abroad. The notorious agent Zafar Iqbal, who was involved in the Greek boat accident, is involved in kidnapping and sending innocent children abroad and was caught from Mandi Bahauddin. The accused is a member of an international gang involved in human smuggling.
The accused stole Rs 1.9 million and 2,300 euros on the pretext of sending a minor child to Italy via Libya. During the journey, the boat met with an accident on the Greek coast and the child died.
Proclaimed suspect Shahzad Yousuf, involved in the Libyan boat accident, was arrested from Kharian. This suspect is also a member of an international gang involved in human trafficking.
