Dera Ismail Khan: Suicide attack on security check post, 4 personnel injured
Four security personnel were injured in a suicide attack on a joint police and security forces post on Dera Tank Road in Dera Ismail Khan.
A suicide bomber in a vehicle targeted the Kanori post in Tehsil Kalachi, injuring 4 security personnel while the blast severely damaged the security post.
Sources said that armed men were coming behind the suicide bomber in a rickshaw and also opened fire on the security post, however, the terrorists managed to escape due to effective counter-action by the security personnel.
Sources said that the vehicle used by the suicide bomber originally belonged to the Communication and Works Department of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
They said that the terrorists had snatched the official vehicle on December 10.
On the other hand, immediately after the attack, a heavy contingent of police and security forces from Hatla, Kalachi, Dera Ismail Khan and Tank reached the scene.
The injured security personnel have been shifted to the Combined Military Hospital Dera Ismail Khan for medical treatment, while the police and security forces had also launched a search operation in the area to arrest the attackers.
