Islamabad: On the issue of nomination of the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly, PTI Founding Chairman Imran Khan has put a full stop on the name he gave and retained the name of Sheikh Waqas Akram for the position and has said that I will decide in this regard, not any government official.
Sources claimed that while reacting to the issue of nomination of Chairman PAC, the Founding Chairman rebuked the PTI leadership on the nomination issue.
According to sources, Imran Khan said that I will decide who will be the Chairman PAC from PTI, not Shehbaz Sharif or any other government official, the first, second, third and fourth names from me for the Chairman PAC will also be Sheikh Waqas Akram.
Sources said that the former prime minister also hinted at resigning from the chairmanship of the standing committees after not getting the PAC chairmanship.
Chairman PAC Yeh Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had written a letter twice, PTI had given the name of Sheikh Waqas Akram in the first reply letter, in the second letter, the PML-N chief whip had asked for a panel of 4 names.
On this, PTI had fixed the name of Sheikh Waqas Akram after consulting Imran Khan and our first name, second name, third name and fourth name will also be Sheikh Waqas Akram.
PTI will submit its final reply next week.
