Israeli forces bombed and set fire to the last functioning hospital in Gaza, Kamal Adwan Hospital, after which patients were forcibly evacuated from the hospital.
According to the Qatari broadcaster ‘Al Jazeera’, the Israeli bombing killed several people in the hospital, as well as several members of the medical staff. It is not known whether dozens of people are alive or have been martyred.
Kamal Adwan Hospital, which was once a place of healing, has now become a battlefield. Eyewitnesses who managed to escape said that a tank attacked the building early in the morning.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health says that contact with the staff inside the hospital has been lost, and that the hospital has been under intense pressure from Israeli forces for several weeks.
The ministry’s director, Munir Al-Barsh, said in a statement that the occupying forces are currently inside the hospital and are burning it.
