The wife of ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has filed for divorce from her husband in a Russian court.
According to Arab media reports, Asma al-Assad has objected to living in Moscow and expressed dissatisfaction with the lifestyle. Asma al-Assad wants to get a divorce and move to Britain, and this may be possible after the separation.
According to the report, Asma wants to go to London for treatment. Before marrying Bashar, Asma worked as an investment banker in London.
Asma’s mother, Sahar al-Akhras, a British citizen and former Syrian diplomat, has hired the services of a top London law firm to help her daughter return to Britain.
